Construct Safetronic

Nov. 20, 2004 – A car security system that locks itself
The SAFETRONIC, a contactless, automatic car security system, is being presented by two wholly Czech companies, CONSTRUCT A&D and Secar Bohemia a.s.. This unique, patented system requires no driver intervention and automatically locks the gearshift lever or automatic transmission selector.
The Safetronic  system, which will be presented to the public this week at the Autoshow 2004 tradeshow in Prague, locks the gearshift lever in reverse position upon ignition key removal. Unlocking requires that an electronic chip is placed in a particular place in the vehicle interior where an identification module is invisibly hidden.
This module then decides whether the user is authorized and if so, immediately unlocks the transmission. The driver doesn’t have to physically unlock anything, there are no visible lock cylinders marring the interior and thieves will have a significantly more difficult time stealing a parked vehicle. (See video sample!)
The development of Safetronic took place over three years and during that time underwent demanding trials. The system consists of a mechanical portion which is resistant against breakage, drilling or freezing with liquid nitrogen, and an electronic control unit. This unit is programmed to eliminate all possible driver errors in its manipulation, whether the vehicle is in motion, or for example stopped at an intersection. The operational temperature range of the Safetronic  is from –40 to 110°C. Testing on a series of product samples resulted in 100,000 fault-free operations. Safetronic has been approved for use by the Ministry of Transport CR. (See our photogallery!)
This unique solution that is being brought to market by two of the largest European manufacturers of vehicle security systems and subsequent stolen vehicle location, Construct and Secar Bohemia, is currently unrivalled worldwide. Of course Safetronic is fully compatible with all Sherlog locator systems from Secar Bohemia. This means that one electronic chip provides the user with control over both systems.
Safetronic in no way interferes with the vehicle’s mechanical or electronic systems, being completely autonomous.
Safetronic can be installed in all vehicle makes and models. Its price has been set at 14,916 CZK (excluding DPH); insurance companies will be providing up to a 20% discount on premiums for its use, which can mean a rapid return on investment.
At the present time Safetronic can be ordered and installed in Construct A&D a.s. and Secar Bohemia a.s. service centres. In the future it will also be available at selected car brand dealerships.
Both companies that collaborated on the development of the Safetronic  are wholly Czech-owned and operated. Construct mechanical security systems first appeared on our market in 1991 and since then are number one. The company is the only one in its field to have been certified according to the ISO 9001 standard, and this year became the first company in the Czech Republic to gain the ISO/TS 16 949:2002 certificate, recognized worldwide. Secar Bohemia (Sherlog systems) was founded a year later. It is currently the largest European company in its field and thanks to a 96% success rate in locating missing vehicles has become the most successful in the world. Both companies are constantly expanding into the European market, with subsidiary companies or dealers in may countries.
